3DR Con III - 2023

 


3D Roleplay Convention III was a very great success! Proudly by the fantastic Alternative Armies!


We had over 15 events across all 3 days of gaming. We played Space Hulk, HeroQuest, Man O' War, Space Fleet, Rogue Trader, Adeptus Titancius (1988), Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay, & many more!

The first day we had several great games of Space Hulk (where the marines actually managed to take many victories, oddly enough!) & an exciting game of Space Fleet. Man O'War was also enjoyed & Heroquest. 

The second day was a massive 6 player + GM battle of Rogue Trader, with an original scenario that had an Imperial planet in a state of civil war. The confederates had two massive siege cannons deployed & the Imperial governor sent forces to drop in & take them out with explosive charges. The strike team was all Ion Age Muster Troops & the governor & his retinue were Marcher Baron models from Ion Age. It got folks really interested in Alternative Armies, I think. 

There was a massive horus heresy siege of the imperial palace game using 6mm Warlord, Reaver & Warhound titans from the old Adeptus Titanicus game (1988).

Lots of smaller games were played throughout the weekend & we ended the last day of the con with a massive 12 player Warhammer siege game. It was epic.

3DR Con IV - 2024

3DR Con IV May 4th & 5th, 2024: This past weekend, the 4th annual Oldhammer convention 3D Roleplay Con (IV) in Portland, Oregon (USA) took place. It was the best one yet & truly a fantastic time! So much love & enthusiasm for the 'games of old' & the fantasy wargaming hobby as a whole. 3D Roleplay Con is an annual Oldhammer gaming convention championing the golden-era of fantasy wargaming & roleplaying, with an emphasis on 1980’s editions of Warhammer, Rogue Trader & the like... Folks travelled from as far away as Vancouver, BC to roll dice & trade old lead miniatures with like minded gamers. Around 40 people this year gathered at the quaint convention hall in southeast Portland around 9am on Saturday, May 4th. 3D Roleplay Con I - 2021

  The inaugural 3DR Roleplay Convention went off without a hitch! From out of the ether, a group of friends decided to get together on an unusually hot summer day & roll dice with toy soldiers. 3D Roleplay Con is an annual Oldhammer gaming convention held in Portland, Oregon (USA). Championing the golden-era of fantasy wargaming & roleplaying, with an emphasis on 1980’s editions of Warhammer Fantasy Battle, 40K: Rogue Trader, Realm[s] Of Chaos, Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay & the like. 3DR Con is meant for lead-miniature enthusiasts to get together, roll dice, trade miniatures & enjoy the classic games of the Oldhammer era. We play narrative, old-school miniature wargames & roleplaying games. Though this convention focuses primarily on 1980's GW game systems & miniatures, all games are welcome.
